March 4

Today we went through absolute values. We started by going over more transformations, focusing on absolute values.
Using graphmatica we graphed the funtions y=x-2 and y=-x+2. Then we graphed the absolute value of y=x-2 and only the values above the x axis show. So basically each line below the x axis is reflected on the x axis and the part above the x axis is the graph.
The above example shows that this works.To do these functions without technology we first draw the non-absolute funtion. Next we reflect only the portion below the x axis across the x axis. (as stated above.) We confirmed this with graphmatica.

He also gave us some questions to practice with in the Mickelson book.Pg 12-35 Open ended set(show all work) and a multiple choice set.
