Sorry, Amy...

for deleting the previous post that was on here for about a day...but you're either guilty of:

a) not having read the whole thing, and therefore just not being thorough

OR

b) REALLY bad judgment if you had indeed read the entire thing...see me for clarification. Remember, folks, this is an extension of our classroom, and our classroom is in a school....

Behave accordingly.

Thank you.

Four more days...

First of all I'd like to let ou know I had typed this up last thursday when I was scribe but after checking our blog sight today I noticed It saved under draft instead of publishing it. Sorry for the inconvenience but last week we didn't really learn anything new anyway. So anyways here's what I had typed up.......

Well hello.. Its only four more days until the math exam and I wish everyone luck. Today was another work/study period where we got to work on whatever you figured you need to perfect before the exam. We got a chance to complete our review exercises up to 50 and also finish accelerated math.

Since the exam is so near we didn't learn anyting new so instead here's a joke to lighten the mood..

Top ln(e^10) reasons why e is better than pi
10) e is easier to spell than pi.
9) pi ~= 3.14 while e ~=2.718281828459045.
8) The character for e can be found on a keyboard, but pi sure can't.
7) Everybody fights for their piece of the pie.
6) ln(pi^1) is a really nasty number, but ln(e^1) = 1.
5) e is used in calculus while pi is used in baby geometry.
4) 'e' is the most commonly picked vowel in Wheel of Fortune.
3) e stands for Euler's Number, pi doesn't stand for squat.
2) You don't need to know Greek to be able to use e.
1) You can't confuse e with a food product.

One day a mathematician decides that he is sick of math. So, he walks down to the fire department and announces that he wants to become a fireman. The fire chief says, "Well, you look like a good guy. I'd be glad to hire you, but first I have to give you a little test."
The firechief takes the mathematcian to the alley behind the fire department which contains a dumpster, a spigot, and a hose. The chief then says, "OK, you're walking in the alley and you see the dumpster here is on fire. What do you do?" The mathematician replies, "Well, I hook up the hose to the spigot, turn the water on, and put out the fire."
The chief says, "That's great... perfect. Now I have to ask you just one more question. What do you do if you're walking down the alley and you see the dumpster is not on fire?" The mathematician puzzles over the question for awhile and he finally says, "I light the dumpster on fire."The chief yells, "What? That's horrible! Why would you light the dumpster on fire?" The mathematician replies, "Well, that way I reduce the problem to one I've already solved."

More Exam Review

Here's the example study sheet Mr. Max gave us a few days ago. To gain more assignment marks, we have the option to make 8 of these (one for each unit) or study sheets of some sort for Friday. Basically the idea is to go through each learning outcome (from the Manitoba curriculum sheet) and put examples or references to examples. If you know you are well-versed in that particular outcome, you can put a check mark or some such symbol.

Class today was more preparation for the exam. We also spent a fairly significant amount of time discussing how to find a superconductor for Cindy. Because she misplaced hers. Here's a picture of one in action.

It was a fairly productive class I suppose, especially for Anna who made the most of the whole 10 minutes she decided to bless us with her presence.

I guess that's it for now. Our class is getting a little loopy.

The end is near......

This guy knows it...

and this little dog is about to find out....

the end is in sight...we're almost done!!

Well, I am sad to say that I think this is my last SVRSS Grade 12 Pre-Calculus Math blog post ever. Also this is our last week of grade 12 math.. ever.

Anyways, today was basically a work period, to ask him questions if you need, although some us took the time rather to reminise on our high school experiences while trying to fill out those wonderful things(sarcasm).... or watch ufc.. boys..

For the important stuff, 59 accelerated math objectives are due on the 19th, exercises 48 49 50 are due on Friday.

Exam June 9th!

So I guess this is it, farewell classmates, it's been good learning with ya.

For anyone that is going to re-write that test(from forever ago)...when should we do it?
Well class started out with our last test being officially handed back today and a quick lesson on what could possibly be a good way to make our study sheets. The study sheet is also now worth marks for in the assignment category if done before Friday. Also we now have our blog evaluations in our hands but they aren't due until the tenth. Well that pretty much explains class good luck to everyone on the exam next Monday.
PS: sorry this is late I forgot that the resource centre was closed for exams
